The Background of Fechner Aerospace

Fech­n­er Aero­space was found­ed by Dr.-Ing. Felix Fech­n­er, an aero­space engi­neer spe­cial­ized in inno­v­a­tive rotary wing air­craft con­fig­u­ra­tions and unmanned aer­i­al vehi­cle design. Dur­ing his doc­tor­al research, Dr. Fech­n­er inves­ti­gat­ed the inten­tion­al gen­er­a­tion of asym­met­ric lift on heli­copters to com­pen­sate for the nat­ur­al dis­sym­me­try of lift inher­ent to every heli­copter rotor.

One of the major find­ings was a fun­da­men­tal­ly new under­stand­ing of rotor phase shift, which can be very dif­fer­ent in sta­t­ic and dynam­ic sit­u­a­tions. Using flight tests and a cus­tom rotor sim­u­la­tion pro­gram, a pre­vi­ous­ly unknown reduced phase shift was dis­cov­ered which becomes effec­tive in sta­t­ic sit­u­a­tions where pilot input serves sole­ly to com­pen­sate for asym­met­ri­cal­ly act­ing forces.
